Celebration of Grace
We are called to facilitate worship that is participatory, rather than spectator-driven. Corporate worship reminds us that we are the body of Christ, not a collection of individuals, and that we are on the journey of following Christ together. Join with us in worship as we journey together and celebrate God’s grace. If you are breathing God wants you to praise Him with your voice and with instruments. In Psalm 150 it says,
1 Hallelujah! Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise him in his mighty expanse.
2 Praise him for his powerful acts; praise him for his abundant greatness.
3 Praise him with the blast of a ram’s horn; praise him with harp and lyre.
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and flute.
5 Praise him with resounding cymbals; praise him with clashing cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Hallelujah!
In the New Testament the Bible encourages us to sing all kinds of songs. In Colossians 3:16 it says, 16Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs,[d] singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
The primary purpose of the music and arts ministry is to support the corporate worship life of First Baptist Church. There are several opportunities for you to use your gifts and talents within the music and arts ministry.
